"The Peking University Health Science Center-Macao Polytechnic University Nursing Academy" was established in 2021. In terms of the age of the academy, it is as young as a newborn baby. However, just like its long name, the academy has a profound origin and is extraordinary. The academy is a demonstration of a new era, new thinking, national development, and an innovative higher education running model. The faculty of the academy is composed of teachers from the century-old Peking University Health Science Center, and from the Nursing Programme of Macao Polytechnic University, which has more than 50 years of nursing training experiences. The mixed faculty team with different backgrounds and teaching styles will bring students a brand-new teaching method and learning experience. The managing position of the academy is jointly appointed by the Peking University and the Macao Polytechnic University. This dual management model creates a good opportunity to learn and complement each other's strengths, consequently to improve managing ability and ensure the quality of teaching. The study plan equips students with both opportunities to learn at Macao Polytechnic University and Peking University. This arrangement can let students not only be familiar with the local healthcare system, but also get to know the healthcare system, hospital operation and campus culture in the Mainland China.

The Academy adheres to the teaching philosophy of “Learning, Caring, and Being Excellent", and also pursues the education spirit of "Diligence, Rigor, Objectivity, and Creativity" that Peking University has been pursuing for more than 100 years. The Academy and the Peking University School of Nursing have sufficient and advanced teaching and learning facilities, and also have couple of sizable general hospitals as clinical practice bases, which can help students transform their theoretical knowledge into practice, and improve their comprehensive clinical competencies.
