The International Conference on Quality Assurance and the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, organised by Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and co-organised by the Asia-Pacific Quality Network, will be held at MPI on 24-25 November 2015. The conference will feature keynote speeches by Dr Stephen Jackson, Associate Director International of the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, Professor William Lee, Director of HKU SPACE and former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and Dr Jan Cameron, Director of the Academic Quality Agency for New Zealand Universities, on various issues related to teaching and learning quality and the latest developments in Quality Assurance.

 

This two-day conference will consist of presentations of 30 papers by academics and experts coming from countries and regions such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao on one of the following conference themes: theories and practices in teaching and learning; QA systems for teaching and learning in the Asia-Pacific region; professional development for teachers and the enhancement of teaching and learning; QA and the development of student engagement in processes aimed at teaching and learning enhancement; educational technologies, social media and their impacts on teaching and learning; and the uses of institutional data to assure, and enhance, the quality of teaching and learning.

 

The conference opening and keynote sessions will commence at 9:15am on 24 November 2015 in Lecture Theatre 1 on the first floor of MPI’s Wui Chi Building, followed by a number of parallel sessions.
