MPI Holds Exhibition of Teaching & Research Developments in IT

MPI is to organize an exhibition of Teaching and Research Developments in IT on 27 February (Saturday). The series of activities will display to the public the latest developments in teaching and research in information technology.

The Computing Programme team organizing the exhibition explain that the activities in this scientific and technology exhibition are rich in content, and include research achievements of the teachers and students from the Computing Programme such as digital terrestrial television broadcasting codec testing centre introduction and demonstration, intelligent antenna systems, intelligent spectrum resource management, high-capacity communications radio frequency antenna design, 3D simulation of Macao world heritage sites, a new generation of slot machine design and the ALICE 3D Programming Contest.

Dr. Wong Kin Yeung, Associate Professor in the School of Science and Technology from the Open University of Hong Kong, has been invited to deliver a speech entitled “Internet System and Network Science”. In addition MPI will display its collaborative projects with well-known universities such as the University of California, Los Angeles and University of London. A Computing Programme representative commented that by having close cooperation with world-renowned universities such as these, and local industry, MPI created a good research platform for students.

The Bachelor of Science in Computing was accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2011, and upon graduation the students’degrees are recognized by IET. Thus, in terms of their future career development, graduates of the programme are qualified to meet the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer registration, which not only improves their competitiveness in the job market, but also demonstrates to the world the international reputation and standing of Macao Higher Education in nurturing outstanding Macao IT talents.

The Exhibition of Teaching & Research Developments in IT will be held in Macao Polytechnic Institute on February 27 (Saturday) 15:00 at the Chi Un Building on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Interested parties are welcome to join. Please contact 8599 3281 or MPI website www.ipm.edu.mo/st for more details.
