Ms. Cristina Morais, Coordinator of the Support Office of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and her delegation paid a courtesy visit to MPI on 22 March and was warmly welcomed by President Lei Heong Iok and the Portuguese Teaching and Research team. Both parties exchange ideas on cooperation on the Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as well as on Portuguese teaching activities and research and social services. The meeting atmosphere was pleasant.

Coordinator Cristina Morais expressed her gratitude for MPI’s support to the Forum Macao and to the Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. She hopes MPI will continue to support the 5^th Ministerial Conference this year.

President of MPI, Professor Lei Heong Iok expressed that MPI will continue to support the Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. President Lei introduced to the delegation that MPI has launched the Chinese-Portuguese Translation and Interpretation Programme and Sino-Lusophone Trade Relations Programme which have now enrolled more than 300 students, published related teaching materials, and provided training to teachers. MPI is committed to nurturing talents so as to enable Macau's role as the exchange platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
