In order to understand the path of the centenary struggle of the Chinese Communist Party and to enhance university students' sense of national identity and national pride, a delegation of around 100 people led by Prof. Im Sio Kei, President of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), Ng Ka Kei, President of the MPI Student Union, Wong U Kei, Chairman the MPI Alumni Association and Au Weng Chi, member of the Board of Directors of Macau Foundation, together with teachers, students and alumni visited the “100 Years of the Communist Party of China -- Photo Exhibition Celebrating the Centenary of the Communist Party of China” at the Sino-Lusophone Business Cooperation Service Platform Complex on June 29. Participating students and teachers stated that the photos were exhibited in a vivid and figurative way, which demonstrated the glorious history of the whole nation under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. Students gained a better understanding about China’s past, present and future, and shared the glory of the motherland’s prosperity.

“The Photo Exhibition Celebrating the Centenary of the Communist Party of China” consists of four parts and, through 298 vivid images, the glorious history of the centenary struggle of the Communist Party of China is portrayed. By looking back to the past, it serves to inspire the future and encourages Macao's young people to move forward on a new journey to realize the great dream of prosperity, stability and revival of the Chinese nation. Prof. Im Sio Kei, President of MPI, said that the exhibition allowed Macao students and young people to deepen their knowledge of the glorious history and struggles of the Communist Party of China over the last century, as well as to strengthen their knowledge of the country's development; whereby, students were inspired and acquired more power to pass on the core value of love for the motherland and love for Macao. President Im encouraged students, teachers and alumni to actively participate in national development and to dedicate themselves to the prosperity of China and Macao.

Ng Ka Kei, President of the MPI Student Union, said that this large-scale photo exhibition enabled Macao citizens to understand the glorious history of the Chinese Communist Party in a more comprehensive way. Young people in Macao have enjoyed the support and attention given by the Communist Party of China and the Macao SAR Government. Therefore, they must consolidate and raise their own competitiveness, make full use of Macao's advantages under the principle of “One Country, Two Systems”, actively participate in the high-quality construction of the Great Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and integrate into the national development to realize a better future.

Wong U Kei, Chairman of the MPI Alumni Association, said that the images displayed in the exhibition showed the centenary history and dream of the Communist Party of China. Through these photos, he felt so excited to witness China's gradual evolution, from being invaded by foreign powers to its recovery and prosperity. Each photo depicted the enthusiasm of young patriots in pursuing their dreams during the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China continually flourishes and heads for an even brighter future.

MPI persists in the fundamental value of “love for the motherland and Macao”, and is dedicated to the cultivation of young people’s sense of national identity, sense of belonging and national pride. By doing so, MPI aims at strengthening youngsters’ national recognition, enhancing their sense of patriotism, and encouraging them to work for the construction of Macao and China.
