Hong Kong Society for Education in Art and Macau Visual Arts Teacher Association Visit MPU to Promote Cooperation
To promote cooperation and exchange between Hong Kong and Macao in the field of art education, the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art (HKSEA) and the Macau Visual Arts Teacher Association (MVATA) visited Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), engaging in a productive discussion on the planning of art programmes, teaching methods, teacher training, and shared experiences and achievements.
Associate Professor Lai Mei Kei, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of MPU, warmly welcomed the HKSEA and MVATA. She shared an overview of the faculty, highlighting MPU’s encouragement of theoretical and practical teaching methods such as curating exhibitions and participating in art exhibitions. These activities enable students to develop their artistic talents, critical thinking and communication skills.
The HKSEA and MVATA commended the Faculty for its excellence in arts education. It has nurtured numerous outstanding educators and talents over the years, contributing significantly to the development of arts education in Hong Kong and Macao. During the visit, the guests toured the exhibition of visual arts students, art studios, and the teaching and research facilities.
