Representatives from the Central Academy of Fine Arts Visit MPU to Deepen Exchange
To deepen cooperation and academic exchanges, and promote the cultivation of cultural and artistic talents, Liu Jing, the Deputy Dean of the Student Affairs Office of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) led the “Green Bamboo Project” summer social practice group to visit Macao Polytechnic University (MPU). Lai Mei Kei, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of MPU, warmly welcomed the CAFA representatives. Discussions about cultivating artistic talents and academic research cooperation between the two parties were held in a pleasant atmosphere.
During the symposium, both parties shared experiences such as setting up art education courses, teaching methods, and industry-university-research collaboration. Lai Mei Kei stated that the FAD of MPU is committed to providing quality art education, and to collaborating with art institutions within the country and overseas to broaden students’ horizons and enhance the quality of teaching and research. Over the years, the fruitful cooperation in art education between MPU and the CAFA has contributed to the joint cultivation of outstanding artistic talents.
Liu Jing expressed that the purpose of this visit to MPU was to gain a deeper understanding of the distinctive features of the university in the fields of art and design through on-site inspections. This included exploring talent development models in visual arts, media arts, design, and music. It is hoped that the two institutions will continue to strengthen exchanges and collaboration, further advancing the development of art education.
During the visit, the CAFA delegation toured the exhibition of MPU Visual Arts student works, art studios, and teaching and research facilities. The CAFA’s delegation included: Qiu Tianren, Project Director of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office; Li Zhenghan, Student Affairs Officer and teacher of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Centre; Zhao Guowen, counsellor for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Students; and Zhang Di, teacher of the Basic Arts Modelling Discipline. MPU’s delegation included: Wong In Nga, Programme Coordinator in Design; Zhang Ke, Assistant Programme Coordinator in Visual Arts; and Chung Siu Wing, Programme Coordinator in Media Arts.
