MPU Faculty and Students' Visit to Shenzhen's Cultural and Creative Industries Yields Fruitful Results

To promote Macao's youth's integration into the Greater Bay Area and their participation in the national development landscape, faculty and students from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) conducted an academic visit to Shenzhen's cultural and creative industries. This visit aimed to provide a deeper understanding of Shenzhen's status as a hub for design and its cultural and creative economic development, as well as to grasp the talent cultivation models in design, arts, and innovation research in the Greater Bay Area, resulting in a fruitful experience.

During the visit, Professor Lei Cheng Cheong, the Programme Coordinator of the Master of Interdisciplinary Arts, led the students to Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), where they received a warm welcome from Professor Huang Wei, the Director of the Master Department of Art and Design of SIGS. Huang Wei provided a detailed overview of the unique features of the SIGS's arts and design master's program, guiding the MPU students to tour the teaching facilities, student exhibitions, and the university library.

Furthermore, the MPU students visited the Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning in Shenzhen, the Digital Art Exhibition, GDC Graphic Design in China, and other exhibitions. This academic exchange and research activity broadened the students' professional horizons, deepened their understanding of the contemporary art and design industries, and prepared them for future career planning.
