Huang Cui, Director of the Zhuhai Municipal Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Bureau, led a delegation to visit the “One Country Two Systems” Research Centre (CEUPDS) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), and was warmly received by Leng Tiexun, Director of the Centre. The two sides pleasantly discussed and exchanged views on promoting research cooperation on the study of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy and further enhancing the understanding of the “One Country, Two Systems” principle among young people in Zhuhai and Macao.

The Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Bureau of Zhuhai has always paid attention to the economic and social development of Macao and the practice of “One Country, Two Systems” policy. The Bureau proactively provides favourable and convenient conditions for Macao young people to study, work, start a business and  live in Zhuhai, especially in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone; and at the same time, it encourages exchanges between young people in Macao and Zhuhai. Previously, civil servants in Zhuhai participated in a training course on the Macao Basic Law organized by the Centre under the encouragement and coordination of the Bureau. The course received good feedback.

The “One Country Two Systems” Research Centre is an academic unit in a public higher education institution  devoted to deepening cooperation with relevant departments of the Macao SAR Government and committed to carrying out education on the Constitution and the Macao Basic Law for civil servants. In the future, with the continuous integration of exchanges and cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao, it is hoped to further promote the in-depth understanding of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy by all sectors of society in the two places and contribute to the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Visitors also included: Huang Yuanhong, Deputy Director of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Bureau of Zhuhai; Lin Yi, a fourth-level researcher; Liang Huaqing, the Chief of the General Office of the Bureau; and Zhang Qian, the Chief of the Policy Research Office.
