MPU FAD Holds the “Let’s Celebrate 25” Art Exhibition
In order to celebrate the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance, and to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation with the art schools in the Greater Bay Area, the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) has launched the “Let’s Celebrate 25” art exhibition in the MPU Exhibition Hall. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the exhibition presented the unique perspectives of MPU students on their own experiences over the past 25 years and their resonance with Macao’s return to the motherland, demonstrating the personal and communal connections with the city and injecting more innovation and vitality into this significant period.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was presided over by Mr. Lei Wai Wa, Director of The Greater Bay Area Artist Association; and Mr. Sio In Leong, Executive Vice President of Macao Artist Association. The exhibition featured a total of 36 pieces/groups of artworks from the MPU and members of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance, presenting the fruitful achievements of art education in the Greater Bay Area. It fostered a cultural consensus among the youth of the region, enhanced the creative atmosphere, and injected more innovative energy into each city.
The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts Programme of MPU aims to cultivate a comprehensive humanistic experience, enrich artistic aesthetics, and develop personal attributes, thus educating students to understand the importance of visual arts to society. Through organising various activities, the programme promotes exchanges and cooperation between teachers and students and art professionals at home and abroad, broadens international perspectives, facilitates artistic exchanges and innovative development in visual arts between the East and West, and cultivates visual arts talents with creative, teaching and innovative capabilities.
