Everything starts anew at the beginning of the Year of the Snake. Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) organised a celebration event for the 2025 Chinese New Year, with red spring festival couplets and new year decorations hung all over the campus. MPU Rector Marcus Im, Vice-Rector Vivian Lei and Acting Secretary-General Carmen Mok came together with students to welcome the arrival of Chinese New Year, expressing their festive greetings and spring blessings to students. The event was lively and full of laughter.

MPU Rector Marcus Im wished all students a bright future in the Year of the Snake, encouraged the students to set personal goals and study plans for the new year, remain determined, strive for progress and meanwhile to build a healthy lifestyle and prepare for the new year full of energy.

Students who participated in the event said that they like to write Spring Festival couplets and make traditional handicrafts during the Chinese New Year. Moreover, they felt the holiday care from the new year blessings of university and faculty members, and enjoyed the joyful festive atmosphere in MPU.

During the Spring Festival, the Student Affairs Office of MPU organised a celebration event to welcome the Chinese New Year with students, aiming to promote the traditional Chinese cultural connotation, inherit the excellent Chinese festive customs, and motivate students to keep positive and optimistic attitudes towards study and life, as well as to pursue their dreams bravely.
