MPU Hosts Leadership Training Workshop to Promote Students’ Whole Person Development
The Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) hosted the “Be a Leader” training workshop to cultivate students to become responsible young leaders and to promote whole person development. The workshop assisted students in gaining self-awareness, building confidence and striving for excellence though an integration of theoretical knowledge and engaging activities.
Sam Hui, an instructor with extensive experience in leadership education and team building, was invited to the workshop. The lively and systematic sessions enabled students to participate enthusiastically and benefit greatly. The content was divided into four parts: understanding oneself and observing others’ personality traits; strengthening team roles and division of labour; enhancing communication skills and problem-solving abilities; and inspiring students’ leadership potential in both study and work. Through a variety of activity-based teaching methods, students improved their teamwork and leadership skills while learning and playing, experiencing a dynamic and transformative journey of growth.
Participants remarked that the training was conducted in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, with the instructor combining theoretical teaching and interactive activities in an impressive way. During the workshop, they gained insights into their own and others’ personality traits, improved their observation and problem-solving skills, and strengthened their leadership and teamwork abilities. The Student Affairs Office stated that leadership and teamwork are essential elements of students’ whole-person development, helping to support their academic enhancement and prepare them for future careers development, enabling them to become outstanding, competitive, and well-rounded talents.
