MPU Hosts “Soul Recharge Station—Art Healing Workshops”
To promote students’ mental and physical well-being, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) organised a series of activities under the theme “Soul Recharge Station—Art Healing Workshops.” These included innovative art-based sessions such as the “Alcohol Ink Art Workshop” and the “Mandala Art Workshop.” By engaging in artistic activities, students are encouraged to relieve stress, regulate their emotions, and develop a healthy, optimistic mindset.
The “Alcohol Ink Art Workshop” makes use of the flowing properties of ink to encourage emotional expression while allowing students to create one-of-a-kind artworks. During the creative process, students can immerse themselves in the interplay of colours and their inner feelings, experiencing the healing power of art. Meanwhile, the “Mandala Art Workshop” invites students to weave simple shapes—circles, dots, and lines—into intricate, aesthetically pleasing patterns. While adding colour to their artwork, they find themselves relaxing in body and mind, relieving stress and finding emotional peace.
Participants of the workshops said that creating with innovative art materials helped them unwind and recharge amid their busy lives. In particular, working with alcohol ink—known for its fluid and diffusive nature—required patience and a gradual mastery of technique. Through this process, they experienced the soothing and restorative power of art.
With a strong focus on holistic development, MPU’s Student Affairs Office regularly holds the “Soul Recharge Station” series to promote students’ mental and physical health, while fostering a supportive and harmonious campus culture.
