MPU FAD Holds Violin & Chamber Music Masterclass
To enrich students’ musical literacy and cultivate musical talent, the Bachelor of Arts in Music, Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) held a Violin & Chamber Music Masterclass seminar. Dr. Cheng Ang, from the Deputy Concertmaster of Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, was invited to share the technical essentials and emotional expression of violin performance, deepening students' understanding and interpretation of musical works.
This masterclass seminar focused on violin performance techniques and chamber music collaboration, offering an in-depth exploration of musical interpretation, technical precision, and ensemble dynamics. It also covered practical aspects of chamber music performance skill, like ensemble coordination, balance, and artistic cohesion in order to improve students' performance levels, with an emphasis on repertoire selection, stylistic nuances, and expressive communication. Through interactive demonstrations, personalized feedback, and group discussions, elevating the students’ musical artistry and collaborative abilities.
