The 29th International Conference on Cantonese, organized by the Faculty of Languages and Translation of Macao Polytechnic University and co-organized by the Macao Society of Cantonese Studies, will be held at Macao Polytechnic University from October 27 to 28, 2025. Scholars, experts, and students worldwide specializing in Cantonese research are cordially invited to submit papers and join in exchanging insights on topics related to Cantonese studies.

This year’s conference is themed “Cantonese Studies in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Theory and Application.” Key discussion areas include: Cantonese teaching and assessment, application of Cantonese in experimental phonetics and speech-language therapy, compilation and research on Cantonese texts and documents, geographical linguistics of Cantonese and other relevant research topics.

Selected papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in Cantonese Studies (ISSN 1992-870X), a journal published by Jinan University (Guangzhou) and the Macao Society of Cantonese Studies. Submissions will be evaluated based on academic merit, with priority given to papers aligning with the conference theme. The final selection will be determined by the editorial committee.
