MPU Hosts Student Activity Fair to Promote Holistic Development

To enhance campus life and support students’ holistic development, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) hosted the 2025 Student Activity Fair. Over two days, the event featured a vibrant array of booths representing university teams, activity programmes, and the Students’ Union. Attendees enjoyed detailed information, live demonstrations, and hands-on experiences, which drew enthusiastic crowds and created a dynamic, engaging atmosphere.

The Student Activity Fair covered four major areas: sports, language and debate, holistic development, and student organisations. Sports teams included dragon boat, track and field, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, badminton, and table tennis. On-site activities featured a paddling technique showcase by the dragon boat team, along with fun interactive experiences in handball and volleyball. The debate teams offered Cantonese, Mandarin, and English debate squads, each presenting live mock debates and inviting students to join in and discover the excitement of debating. Holistic development programmes included the “SHINE” Whole Person Development Scheme, the Creative Planning Talent Programme, and the “Eagle Eyes” Anti-Fraud Ambassador scheme. The MPU Students’ Union also hosted a recruitment booth. Distinctive designs and engaging content made each booth a magnet for curious students, fuelling an enthusiastic atmosphere from start to finish.

Students who took part in the Student Activity Fair said it was a great opportunity to connect and explore the diverse range of university activities. Through conversations with senior members, they gained a clearer understanding of each team’s structure and training routine, which helped them make more informed decisions. Many shared their hopes of joining university teams to build lasting friendships, improve their teamwork, and grow as leaders.

The MPU Student Affairs Office is dedicated to whole-person development, fostering leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility through a rich variety of extracurricular activities. The Fair kicked off the new academic year with energy and enthusiasm, inspiring students to discover their strengths beyond the classroom and take part in shaping a dynamic and rewarding university life.
