MPU Student Receives the Bronze Award in International Design Competition
Li Yang, a student of the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts programme of the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) at Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), showed outstanding creative excellence and artistic expression by winning the Bronze Award at the“G CROSS Award”and the Most Popular Award at the “Hiibrand Awards – International Brand and Communication Design Competition”, demonstrating MPU students’ professional expertise and international competitiveness in the field of design, and bringing honour to both Macao and the university.
The“G CROSS Award” is a major international competition for worldwide designers organised by the British Industrial Design Council in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects,, and the Design Department at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. The competition spans multiple fields including graphic design, product design, visual arts and interactive media. It emphasises innovative, socially impactful and sustainable design concepts.
The Hiibrand – International Brand and Communication Design Competition, established in 2010, accepts global submissions centred on the theme “Innovation and Excellence in Branding and Design”, and selects the most creative and influential design practices. The competition features two main categories—Brand Awards and Design Awards—promoting the sustainable development of the global design community by recognising and showcasing innovative works from enterprises, design teams and individual creators.
MPU FAD emphasises the cultivation of creative thinking and practical skills. It actively encourages students to participate in various design competitions and exhibitions to broaden their horizons, enhance their professional standards, and foster design talents with global competitiveness.
