MPU held the "Care for your mind, Embrace Healthy Life" Mental Health Awareness Fair
MPU collaborated with government and community to jointly safeguard students' well-being

Macao Polytechnic University actively collaborates with the Macao SAR Government to implement the "Healthy Campus" programme for higher education institutions. In response to World Mental Health Day and to enhance students' awareness of mental and physical well-being, the Student Affairs Office organised a Mental Health Awareness Fair themed "Care for your mind, Embrace Healthy Life". The event engaged multiple government departments and local social service organisations to jointly safeguard students' well-being and create a "Healthy Campus." The event attracted about 2,500 participants, creating a lively atmosphere.

The opening ceremony of the Mental Health Awareness Fair was officiated by Kenny Ng, MPU Acting Vice-Rector; Lei Lai Peng, Department Head of the Department of Family and Community Services, Social Welfare Bureau of Macao SAR; Zhong Lan, Representative of the Health Bureau of Macao SAR; Sou Keng Ieong, Director General of the Richmond Fellowship of Macau; BoBo Lo, Director General of Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service of Macau; Eric Cheuk, Executive Secretary of the Young Men’s Christian Association of Macao; Lao Mei I, Unit in Charge of Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office; Adelaide Choi, Director of the Taipa Family Education and Support Centre of the Social Service Section of the Macau Methodist Church; Chong Sok Cheng, Manager of the Fuhong Society of Macau Yee Lok Centre; Victor Lo, Representative of the Caritas Macau Hoi Fai Life Education Resource Centre; and Lai Weng Tong, President of the MPU Student Union.

The event featured a variety of interactive booth games and workshops covering topics such as understanding emotions, relaxation and stress reduction, resilience building, mental health tips, health club, and weight management. These activities provided students with diverse learning experiences, allowing them to gain knowledge about mental and physical health in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Participating students said that the event was interesting and diverse, offering rich educational significance, and they had the opportunity to learn about mental and physical health knowledge and skills.

The Student Affairs Office will continue to safeguard students' well-being by hosting a series of activities such as "Art Relaxation Workshops", "Sound Healing Workshops", "Mindfulness Experiences", and "Fitness Interest Classes". These initiatives aim to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of their mental and physical condition, cultivating resilience and promoting a positive and healthy lifestyle, in collaboration with the government and social service organisations to achieve the visions of "Happy Macao."
