Jiawei Shi, female, PhD., Professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, Doctoral Supervisor of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. She received a bachelor's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) from Beijing Language and Culture University, a master's degree in Modern Chinese Linguistics (TCSOL) from Beijing Language and Culture University, and a doctor's degree in Chinese philology (TCSOL) from Peking University. She is currently the Dean of the Teachers College of Beijing Language and Culture University, the Secretary-General of the Curriculum and Textbook Committee of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, the Secretary-General of the National Joint Committee of Undergraduate Leaders of TCSOL in Colleges and Universities, and the member of the External Examination Committee of Bachelor's Degree Program in International Chinese Language Education of Macao Polytechnic University. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of International Chinese Language Teaching Research, a reviewer of academic journals such as World Chinese Language Teaching and Language Teaching and Research, an interviewer and training expert of national expatriate teachers and volunteers, an interviewer of the International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate Examination, and a national Putonghua proficiency tester. 

She has successively won 12 provincial and ministerial teaching or scientific research awards, such as the Young Teacher Award (Research Category) of Huo Yingdong Education Foundation (2006), the title of Beijing Excellent Teacher (2009), the First Young Teacher Award of Beijing Higher Education Institutions (2017), the First Prize of Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award (2018, 2022), Beijing Excellent Undergraduate Thesis Instructor (2019, 2020), Beijing Pioneer of Teaching and Education (2023), First Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education (Undergraduate) in 2022 (2023), and Excellent Undergraduate Education Team of Beijing Universities (2023). She is the core member of the first characteristic specialty construction point of the Ministry of Education (2007), the excellent teaching team of Beijing (2007), the national teaching team (2009), the Huang Danian-style teaching team of the national universities (2018) and the person in charge of the first-class undergraduate specialty construction point of TCSOL (2019). She is also Executive Director of the National Basic Discipline Top Student Training Program 2.0 Base "Chinese International Communication" Top Student Training Base for Chinese Language and Literature (2021), the leader of the first batch of Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Ministry of Education (2022) and the leader of the Excellent Undergraduate Education Team of TCSOL in Beijing Universities (2023).

Her main research fields are Chinese second language acquisition and language teaching, and international Chinese teacher education. She has published dozens of academic papers, such as "Research on the Acquisition Order of 22 Modern Chinese Sentences by International Students", "Research on Cross-cultural Communication Awareness and Second Language Acquisition", "Case Study of Chinese Sentence Acquisition by Korean Students", "Twenty Years of Research on Chinese Second Language Acquisition in China". She has published her academic monograph Research on the Acquisition and Cognition of Chinese Interrogative Sentence System for Second Language Learners (2017), 6 translations or compilations (including cooperation), and two sets of international Chinese textbooks (cooperation) (the first and third editions of the New Practical Chinese Reader planned by the National Office of Hanban, which won the Excellent International Chinese Textbook Award). She has presided over or participated in a number of projects funded by the National Social Science Fund, the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education, and Beijing Higher Education and Teaching Reform Projects. 

She undertake the teaching of undergraduate courses such as "Chinese Second Language Teaching Method", "Chinese Second Language Teaching Series", "Introduction to Second Language Acquisition" and postgraduate courses such as "Theory and Research of Second Language Acquisition" and "Chinese Second Language Elements Teaching". 

She has been engaged in international Chinese education and teacher education for a long time. She has been to Peking University, Nankai University, Fudan University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Macao University of Science and Technology and other universities to give lectures. She has been to the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for many times to carry out international Chinese teacher training or academic exchanges.
