Factors Affecting Student’s Evaluation of Teachers (SET) and Teachers Self Evaluation (TSE):
A Case Study
This study aimed to investigate the difference between SET and TSE in the context of Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar and to find out factors affecting students’ evaluation scores. The results show significant difference in SET and TSE. It was found that scores TSE are higher than SET on all 20 items of the SET instrument. It has also been found that Students Grades marginally affect students’ evaluation of their teacher. Seniority was found to have a negative relationship with students’ evaluation and significantly affects students’ evaluation. As the students become seniors in their semester the difference between their mean score of teacher’s evaluation keeps on declining and is a matter of great concern. It is proposed that this point may be investigated thoroughly. Course difficulty level has no effect on students’ evaluation of teachers, which is different from the findings in literature. Implications and future direction are also discussed.
