Vanessa Amaro, an Associate Professor at the Centre for Portuguese Studies, Macao Polytechnic University, holds a Master's degree in Media Studies and Journalism from Nova University Lisbon and a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Macau. She conducts extensive ethnographic fieldwork in Macau, focusing on postcolonial cities and Portuguese heritage, linguistic attitudes, and technology's influence on language education.
Manuel Pires, Ph.D. in Portuguese as a Foreign Language from the University of Lisbon, serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Languages and Translation at Macao Polytechnic University. He currently holds the position of Assistant Coordinator for the Portuguese undergraduate program. His research interests span across Portuguese as a Foreign Language, Cultural Studies, and Sociolinguistics.
