MPU “Global Gaming & Tourism Research” Issue 10 Published
The latest issue (the 10th issue) of “Global Gaming & Tourism Research” by Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) has been officially published. This issue boasts rich content, encompassing research papers contributed by distinguished scholars from Mainland China and Macau in the field of gaming and tourism.
In the articles related to tourism, the paper titled “A Study on the Pathways of Coordinated Development between Wellness Tourism and Elderly Care in Rural Areas: Taking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an Example”, authored by Associate Professor Xie Jia and a team from South China Normal University, discusses the coordinated development strategy of health tourism and rural elderly care in the Greater Bay Area. The paper titled “Perceived Harmony and Tourists’ Willingness to Revisit Ecological Theme Parks: Perspective of Cognitive Evaluation Theory”, authored by Professor Li Xi and a team from City University of Macao, explores the relationship between perceived harmony in ecological theme parks and visitors' intention to revisit. The paper titled “An Investigation into the Image of Macao as a Tourism Destination: Based on Social Media Data”, authored by Associate Professor Zhang GaoJun and a team from Jinan University, analyses the image of Macao in the minds of tourists through the analysis of social media data.
In the articles related to gaming, the paper titled “Exploring the Factors Behind Gambling Behaviour: Social, Environmental and Biological Perspectives”, written by Professor Li Shu and a team from Zhejiang University, summarises the research team's findings on gambling behaviour from the perspectives of behavioural economics over the past decades. The paper titled “Research on the Gaming Motivation of VIP Customers and its Effect on the Perceived Gaming Attractiveness in Integrated Resorts of Macao”, written by Associate Professor Ji Chunli and a team from Macao Polytechnic University, investigates the influence of customers’ intrinsic external identification, and external comprehensive gambling motives on behaviour. The paper titled “An Analysis of Business Strategies of Eight Large Gaming Companies in the World”, written by Li Ke and Zeng Jia, analyses the operational strategies of the world's eight largest gambling companies over the past decade, providing insights for the development planning of the Macau gambling industry.
