Dr Tam's monograph was sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR. By studying the inscriptions and clocks of the temples in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Dr Tam summarizes a previously unknown history of Macao. Dr Tam also suggests ways of preserving cultural relics and reviving the property rights of Macao’s temples.
