MPU Students Participate in the Opening Ceremony of “Endless Exploration: The Journey of Chinese Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation"
To deepen students’ understanding of China’s pioneering achievements in aerospace, aviation, and maritime exploration and its role in global technological advancement, Macao SAR Government and China National Space Administration (CNSA) co-organised the exhibition “Endless Exploration: The Journey of Chinese Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation” and the expert lecture “The Heart of an Aircraft: Engines” presented by Yin Zeyong, an aeronautical engine expert. The Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) organised a group of students to attend the opening ceremony and the lecture.
The opening ceremony was officiated by: O Lam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao SAR Government, Liu Yunfeng, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation of CNSA, Shi Shuzheng, Deputy Head of the Education and Youth Affairs Department from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Fu Xiangdong, Head of Information Office of CNSA, Kong Chi Meng, Director of Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao SAR Government, Yin Zeyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Han Siyuan, Deputy Head of Earth Observation System and Data Centre of CNSA, Mok Ian Ian, President of Board of Directors of Macao Science Centre, and Zhang Yuhua, Technology Committee member of Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology.
After the opening ceremony, Yin Zeyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, started the lecture “The Heart of an Aircraft: Engines”. He then introduced the evolution and history of humanity’s dream of flying, China’s pioneering development in aviation industry, and the research and development process of engines. Throughout the lecture, he encouraged students to study diligently and devote themselves to the advancement of the nation’s aerospace and aviation industry.
The attendees Sun Duo and Mai Ching Yau, students from Bachelor of Arts in International Chinese Language Education, stated that the vivid descriptions of aeronautical engine expert Yin Zeyong helped them to understand that the engine was not only the heart of an aircraft, but also a symbol of a nation’s technological strength and industrial backbone. As successors of the new era, they were determined to contribute to the future of the country. Another attendee Wang Shiyin, student from Master of Education, pointed out that this event offered him insights on China’s vision and exploration in aviation technology. As a future teacher, he would like to leverage his professional strengths to carry forward China’s story and promote the spirit of aerospace innovation to his students.
