MPU Dragon Boat Team Wins Second Prize at the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament
Invited by Alliance For Technology, Innovation, and Talent Development In Western Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Macao Polytechnic University Dragon Boat Team participated in the “2025 Youth Riding the Waves to Welcome the National Games, United Striving to Shine in the Bay Area Dragon Boat Invitational Race”. The event aimed to promote youth sports exchange and cooperation within the Greater Bay Area, advocating traditional Chinese culture and strengthening team spirit. The competition gathered 14 elite university dragon boat teams and hundreds of athletes from across the Greater Bay Area to compete for honours on Xianxi Lake at Foshan University.
The MPU Dragon Boat Team demonstrated strong cohesion and technical skill during the competition, securing sixth place in the 200‑metre straight race and eighth place in the 500‑metre straight race. With a total score of 16 points, the MPU Dragon Boat Team outperformed many rivals and won the second prize in the event.
MPU has always placed great emphasis on students’ athletic development and diverse talent cultivation. The MPU Dragon Boat Team’s outstanding performance reflects the perseverance and teamwork of MPU students, with hopes of achieving even greater success in future competitions.
