Students’ Reflections
- Students who participated in the project expressed that it helped them gain more valuable experience. In the process of interacting with the children, they observed that a positive and optimistic personality is the source of happiness, which they would like to apply in their own lives. Through different involvements in the project, they were able to help others and achieve self-growth at the same time. They learned to respect the differences and uniqueness of each individual and reflected on how to better give back to society and fulfill social responsibilities. (Community Care Project)
- A student from Guinea-Bissau enjoyed being able to learn the traditional Chinese culture with other students and she wrote Spring Festival couplets to convey good wishes for a prosperous Year of the Dragon with happiness, good luck, and academic success. An exchange student from Portugal showed deep interest in the Spring Festival and had her first encounter with the art of Chinese paper cutting during the activity, realising that paper cutting is a traditional Chinese art with a long history. She expressed gratitude to the university for arranging a series of Spring Festival activities, allowing her to experience an unforgettable Chinese New Year. (Spring Festival Activity)
- Students who participated in the art stress relief workshop expressed that it did not require any painting skills, and they just had to let the paint flow freely on the canvas, resulting in unexpected effects. This idea of uncertainty taught them to let go of anxiety and go with the flow. In the process of painting, they were able to experience unique sensations and sounds, which had a relaxing and healing effect. This helped them to relieve the stress of daily life and maintain both physical and mental well-being. (Soul Recharge Station Activities)
- In the sharing session, the student representatives agreed that the programme has allowed them to put their knowledge into practice and has enhanced their artistic creativity and expression. They have also benefited greatly from the guidance of their project managers, who have given them inspiration for their career planning and academic development. (Art Talent Development Showcase)
- A student from Master of Science in Sports and Physical Education said that his dream was to become a TV program host, using the sports and health theories they have learned to produce wellness programs and promote fitness information and concepts to the general public. This activity helped them to build stage confidence and improve their on-the-spot response abilities. The instructor analysed the current development opportunities, which inspired the students to discover their language advantages and embrace the available opportunities. (Public Speaking Skills Workshop and MC Training Workshop)
- One of the student members mentioned that global climate change issues are becoming increasingly significant, and the event was held in the same month as World Earth Day, which is 22nd April each year, with the aim of directing public attention towards sustainable development-related issues. Another student participant expressed her interest in arts and creativity, finding the combination of environmental themes particularly meaningful and hoping that similar activities would continue to be held. (“Love This Planet” Environmental Campaign)
- Students who attended the seminar said that Macao is a place where Chinese and Western cultures converge. Macao enjoys strong support from the nation, allowing students to benefit from many policies. As an international city, Macao also offers global perspectives. Through this seminar, they gained an understanding of the specific internship programme, which allowed them to break free from the geographical limitations of Macao and broaden their horizons. (Internship Programme Seminar)
- Students who attended the event expressed that the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin plays a key role in supporting the moderate economic diversification of Macao. Many of its development policies and directions are closely related to Macao. As Macao youth, their employment and entrepreneurial prospects are closely linked to the country's development direction. Actively participating in the construction of the Cooperation Zone can be beneficial for their future development. This event heightened their awareness of personal development and policy knowledge, which is beneficial to their future career planning. (Career Day Series Events)
