Eligibility for Medical Insurance
  • The medical insurance provides mandatory coverage for all non-local students and optional participation for local students. Coverage will be automatically suspended during any periods of withdrawal, academic leave, or termination of studies.
Insurance premium payment regulations
  • Non-local students are required to pay the premium together with their tuition fees. Relevant information can be found in the fee details provided by the university. Paid insurance premiums are non-refundable in cases of withdrawal, academic leave, or termination of studies.
Institutions covered under Medical Insurance
  • The Conde de São Januário Hospital, Kiang Wu Hospital, Macao University of Science and Technology Hospital, and The Islands Healthcare Complex – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital are covered by the Medical Insurance.
Coverage and maximum coverage limit
Reimbursement procedures after outpatient medical treatment
  • Students can submit claims directly through the official website of the insurance company within 90 days from the date of consultation. Reimbursements will be issued via cheque. For detailed procedures, please refer to the Online Claim User Guideline.
  • Students can also submit their applications in person at the Student Affairs Office. The reimbursement procedures are as follows:
    • (1) A completed “Outpatient Claim Form” and original medical receipts should be submitted to the Student Affairs Office within 90 days from the date of consultation.
    • (2) For treatments received at Kiang Wu Hospital, the “Kiang Wu Hospital Outpatient Consultation Voucher” signed by the attending physician must be submitted (only applicable to the outpatient and emergency services).
    • (3) For treatments received at Conde de São Januário Hospital, a “Self-Declaration” must be submitted for medical fees not exceeding MOP300, whereas medical fees exceeding MOP300 require an official “Diagnosis Certificate” from the hospital. The administrative processing fee for the certificate is not reimbursable.
    • (4) To receive reimbursements via direct deposit, students must provide a Macau Patacas account statement from one of the following banks: Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A., Bank of China Ltd. Macao Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macao) Ltd., Banco Comercial Macao S.A., Tai Fung Bank Limited or OCBC Bank (Macao) Ltd. The statement must indicate: the bank name, account holder’s name, currency, and account number. If relevant proof is not provided, students must collect the cheque in person at Macao Insurance Company Limited after the claim is approved.

  • Students can submit claims directly through the official website of the insurance company within 30 days after discharge from hospital. Reimbursements will be issued via cheque. For detailed procedures, please refer to the Online Claim User Guideline.
  • Students can also submit their applications in person at the Student Affairs Office. The reimbursement procedures are as follows:
    • (1) During hospitalisation, the attending physician shall fill in Part B of the “Hospitalisation & Surgical Claim Form” and the applicant shall fill in Part A.
    • (2) A completed “Hospitalisation & Surgical Claim Form” and original medical receipts should be submitted to the Student Affairs Office within 30 days after discharge from hospital.
    • (3) To receive reimbursements via direct deposit, students must provide a Macau Patacas account statement from one of the following banks: Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A., Bank of China Ltd.
