Master of Business Administration in Gaming Management cultivates outstanding leaders and management professionals in the gaming and recreation industries. The programme is specialised in gaming management and focuses on a spectrum of management issues such as strategic planning, marketing, and service quality. It nurtures students' abilities to address challenges and opportunities, and to make professional judgements in a complex business environment.

The progrmme aims at providing students with in-depth knowledge of principles and theories in gaming management and the ability to apply the knowledge to undertake critical analysis and solve issues in management practices. The programme fosters students' leadership in a complex environment of rapid change.

Upon completion of the programme, students are expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes in terms of academic contents, disciplinary skills and attributes. The goal of the programme is to cultivate professionals with intensive knowledge and skills in gaming management. Graduates are able to pursue careers in management, administration and beyond.

How will you learn? 如何學習
The taught modules are delivered through lectures, case studies, class discussions, group/individual projects and presentations, self-learning materials, seminars, study tours and workshops. Students are expected to actively participate in experiential learning opportunities and learn to apply their theoretical knowledge into practical work.
How will you be assessed? 如何評核
Modules are assessed by a combination of coursework, case studies, class discussions, presentations, term paper and project reports, mid-term and final exams. Examination papers will be reviewed by internal moderators and then by external examiners. All examination papers go through a moderation marking procedure. Samples of three examination answer sheets (high, medium and low grades) are sent to the external examiners for quality control. Exam rewrite opportunities will be given to students who fail their first attempt at the end of each semester. Marks of rewrite exams are capped at 50%. Students who fail in both exams or fail to meet basic attendance requirement will be required to repeat the module. The dissertation includes a proposal, a written report and oral defense.
How is the programme structured? 課程架構
The programme is delivered over four semesters spanning two years. Students are required to acquire 36 credits to graduate. Students shall complete modules from the Advanced Modules (18 credits) and Electives (6 credits), and meet the requirements of one dissertation (12 credits).

What are the Entry Requirements? 入學條件
According to Article 3 of Academic Regulations Governing Master's Degree Programmes of MPU, an applicant shall be considered for admission to a master’s degree programme of MPU if s/he:
a) holds a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited higher education institution;
b) fulfils other admission criteria prescribed by the programme of study concerned; and
c) satisfies the examiner(s) in an interview (if required).

Each student is allocated a year tutor who provides general academic and pastoral support throughout the two years of study. Year tutors are the first point of contact in matters stated above. Various communication channels are available for students to express their opinions and suggestions, such as via their respective year tutors, student representatives, programme coordinators and assistant programme coordinators, and dialogue meetings on different levels. The dialogue meetings serve as platforms for consultation and discussion between students and respective personnel ranging from the programme, the academic unit, the academic support and administrative units, to the institutional management. Feedback is made by respective personnel to every issue raised by the students during the meeting with follow-up actions tracked. Student surveys are conducted in every learning module on a semesterly basis to collect students' opinions regarding the delivery of the modules. User satisfaction surveys are conducted annually on central student services. Feedback collected via these surveys will be followed up by the school or respective departments.
Academic support and guidance 教學支援及指導
Students can make use of the faculty weekly office hours for consultation and advice, as well as the mock casino and computer facilities to enhance their learning. Apart from the new student orientation and student handbook, students are encouraged to take advantage of such academic sources as faculty research presentations, project experience sharing by Master-level students, e-learning platform between faculty and students, access to e-journals, English writing clinics by MPU-Bell Centre, and scholarship opportunities. In addition, counselling services, careers services and student support services are accessible to all students through the Student Affairs Office. A wide variety of extracurricular activities (e.g. seminars, workshops, exchange opportunities, field trips etc.) are available via the Student Affairs Office. Students may make full use of the variety of learning oppportunities, both curricular and extracurricular, to develop their academic and holistic capabilities for their future careers or further studies.

This full-time MBA programme in gaming management is built upon students’ bachelor degree qualification and prior working experience, preferably in the gaming industry. Such background can give students insights into the work involved and help develop their general business awareness. Following this, students with different background ranging from general management to doing business in sectors like food and beverage, can meet, share their ideas and opinions, and this network benefits from the prevalent use of the social media. The programme is offered on weekdays from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Macao Polytechnic University has in place a university-wide policy to ensure that all student needs are taken care of and a supportive and accessible learning environment is maintained. When cases of special needs are notified or identified, special arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis with the joint effort of the programme and various student support services of the University, such as the Registry, the Student Affairs Office, the Information Technology Department and the Campus Management and Development Department, etc. to provide the necessary support.

Given that many students have worked in the gaming industry for some years, they have already possessed some general awareness of the industry. Following this, the programme has invited senior-level business executives and high-ranking government officials to share their experience and perspectives of the industry. At the end of each academic year, the programme hosts regular meetings with its industrial advisory board to discuss and solicit needs of the business and training opportunities.
