Dr. Wang Zhimin is a professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and a doctoral graduate from Peking University. She is a leading figure in international Chinese language education, a Yunshan Scholar, the chief expert of a major national social science project, and a doctoral supervisor. Dr. Wang serves as the dean of the International Chinese Intelligent Education Research Institute and the director of the Language Intelligent Education Innovation Laboratory. She is also a standing committee member of the Artificial Intelligence Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing Professional Committee, an executive director of the Digital Course Resources Research Branch of the China Higher Education Society, and an expert in the National Reading Standards Research Group for key projects of the Ministry of Education. Her research interests include international Chinese education, computational linguistics, linguistics, and applied linguistics.

In 2012, Dr. Wang served as the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield in the UK, where she conducted several specialized lectures on Chinese language teaching for local teachers. She was awarded the "Outstanding Sample Course" in a solicitation activity for the "International Chinese Teacher Certificate" examination training system and received the Beijing Quality Teaching Material Courseware Award in 2023.

Dr. Wang leverages her interdisciplinary background to actively explore the digital application of language information processing technology in international Chinese education. In recent years, she has presided over more than ten national and provincial-level projects and has been recognized as a leading talent at Beijing Language University, supported by the first-class team talent support plan. Five students she has mentored have been honored as outstanding graduates in Beijing. Her main achievements include publishing over 70 papers as the first or corresponding author in core journals such as "Language Teaching and Research" as well as at international linguistics conferences. She has also authored four books and obtained four invention patents. A policy report she authored, titled "Promoting International Chinese Education to Become a Primary or Characteristic Interdisciplinary Discipline as an Urgent Task", has been endorsed by a vice-national level leader. Dr. Wang has also contributed to the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence Multilingual Intelligent Information Processing in China, focusing on intelligent processing in international Chinese education.
