The module will teach the theories, practical research, transferable skills and ethics

applicable to research in educational studies with a specific reference to educational
innovations and technologies. It provides broad coverage of issues and topics, including
forming research questions, selection of research methods for both quantitative and
qualitative studies, data analysis and finding presentation.
                 PETI8122 Learning Theories and Technology 3 45 hrs ---
                               Integration
The module aims to provide an updated view on a wide range of topics in relation to

learning and instruction practice with a special reference to technology-enhanced
learning, distance and online learning, mobile and game-based learning, and learning
analytics. Moreover, it builds a foundation for researchers in these fields by clearly
explaining the learning and instruction theories behind these technic innovation and its
implications to the design of curriculum and learning activities, selection and editing of
multimedia learning resources, design and implementation of assessment practice.
                 PETI8123 Innovations in Technology and 3 45 hrs ---
                               Education
The module aims to share and explain the main emerging educational technologies can
be implemented in formal classroom instruction and informal learning outside of
schools, including Learning Management Systems, MOOCs, Learning Analytics, Artificial
Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. Moreover, guided by learning
theories and assessment literacy, this module identifies and explains the effective and
less effective features in the design, use and evaluation of learning technologies.
                 PETI8299 Thesis 21 --- ---

expansion of knowledge in the field of educational technology by addressing research
questions in diverse learning contexts, and to produce research results of scholarly and
publication value. The thesis must be original and the student's own. It demonstrates
that the student has conducted a thorough investigation of the field and critically
articulated relevant work, clearly demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in
the field and strong analytical skills. It is the student's responsibility, with the assistance
of the tutor, to ensure that the dissertation is presented in a clear, understandable and
