Students apply the theories learned in the courses to conduct independent research
under the guidance of the supervisor. Students choose a research topic related to
business administration to investigate an important management issue. Students are
required to use appropriate research methods to collect and analyse data and conduct
detailed investigations of the topic. This course ensures the student's ability to conduct
independent research, demonstrate expertise in a chosen area of interest, and make an
intellectual contribution to management practices. It consists of two parts: thesis writing
and oral defence. Credits can be obtained only when the thesis meets the university's
requirements and passes the thesis examination and oral defence.

Applications
This course exposes students to special issues in artificial intelligence and technology
applications. It offers multiple independent sessions discussing current research in
artificial intelligence and advanced technology. Students also learn how to ethically use
artificial intelligence and advanced technology to help with personal tasks and business
operations.

Management
This course exposes students to special issues in human resources management. It offers
multiple independent sessions discussing current research in human resources
management. It prepares students with research-oriented knowledge in human
resources management to analyse and solve problems in various business
environments, especially the relevant embedded ethical issues.
DBAP8103 Special Issues in Managerial 3 45 hrs ---
Economics
This course is an advanced course dedicated to the in-depth study of economic theory
and its application to management. The course covers multiple independent sessions,
and students will conduct an in-depth study of the latest theoretical developments in
economics, including but not limited to cutting-edge topics in microeconomics,
macroeconomics, and applied economics. Students will explore actual cases, apply
economic models and other research methods, and combine cases from the country,
Macao, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Students will further
understand how to apply economic perspectives to solve management challenges
within and outside organizations and evaluate the impact of different strategies on
corporate performance. The course will cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve
practical challenges, emphasize the combination of theory and practice, and provide
students with comprehensive economic and management knowledge to cope with the
complex modern business environment.
