                 NURS6144     Nursing Education                3       45 hrs    ---
                              Based on the theory and methodology of pedagogy and educational psychology, nursing

                              education explains the theory, teaching process and research in nursing education. The
                              module ensures that students will have the ability to teach and evaluate. The contents
                              include  pedagogic  principles;  basic  theories  of  nursing  education;  nursing  curriculum
                              building; nursing teaching methods and skills; nursing education evaluation; and nursing
                              educational research.

                              This module helps students to deeply explore the current situation of nursing practice
                              and health care research. Students analyze the current research situation, identify the
                              problems to be discussed, and then conduct extensive literature review to thoroughly
                              understand the current situation and existing issues, and develop a research plan for the
                              topics found. After ethical considerations, they conduct the data collection and analysis,
                              and complete the project report.

                 NURS6117     Advanced Pathophysiology         3       45 hrs    ---

                              This module focuses on the changes of functions and metabolism of diseases. It enables

                              students to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis of etiology. The contents
                              include the concepts and theories of advanced pathophysiology; case studies on specific
                              diseases for in-depth understanding of etiology and pathogenesis, enhancing students’
                              clinical thinking and enhancing nursing quality through their clinical decision-making.

                              This  module  aims  to  equip  students  with  more  in-depth  knowledge  about  clinical

                              pharmacology  and  pharmacotherapeutics.  The  contents  include  classifications,
                              indications, major adverse effects, potential drug-drug interactions and precautions of
                              different medications;  pharmacotherapeutic plans and clinical guidelines  for common
                              diseases; and monitoring of the effectiveness and safety of different medications.

                              Promotion

                              This module aims to strengthen students' use of different methods to identify the health
                              needs of the population, plan intervention strategies and evaluate the effectiveness to
                              promote  public  health.  The  contents  include  the  theory  of  health  education  and
                              promotion; the definition and influencing factors of health, health education and health
                              promotion; the strategies and methods of discussion, implementation and evaluation of
                              health  education  and  promotion;  related  ways  to  explore  different  health  education
                              pathways; ethical considerations for health education and promotion; recognition of the
                              contribution and collaboration of other professions in health education.
