NURS6138 Clinical Internship and Internship 9 --- ---

Report
In the clinical internship, students can describe the function and operation of the health
care system and nursing activities; apply specialized nursing knowledge and skills to
maintain the optimal health status of service objects or specific populations through
assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; provide Specialized nursing
practice for individuals, families and communities in critical or critical situations;
effectively provide health education and promotion activities for specific
populations/special disease groups. Students perform at least one on-the-job training
activity for nurses or other health professionals and participate in nursing quality
monitoring and improvement.

Modules for Nursing Specialty

NURS6129 Emergency and Critical Care Nursing 6 90 hrs ---
This module describes the scope of the two major nursing specialties: Emergency Nursing
and Critical Nursing. The contents include: epidemiology of accident prevention and
injury; emergency care for adults and children; life-saving grief after trauma; physical
examination of emergency patients; medical and surgical emergency care, and acute
illness care at different stages of life; and basic and intensive care of critical care and its
quality management, as well as clinical skills and interpretation of special conditions for
ECG, arterial blood gas and X-ray chest radiographs and critical care.
NURS6130 Cancer Nursing 6 90 hrs ---
This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of cancer care. The contents
include:the epidemiology and physiology of cancer; cancer treatment, primary health
care, the application and implementation system in cancer caring.
NURS6131 Rehabilitation Nursing 6 90 hrs ---
This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of rehabilitation nursing. The
contents include:1) the principles of rehabilitation; 2) psychological problems, and
functional clinical care for patients with chronic illness and disability; 3) the theory and
model of rehabilitation care, case management, economic, social and ethical
considerations in rehabilitation care.
NURS6132 Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing 6 90 hrs ---
This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
Nursing. The contents include : the principles and paradoxes of contemporary
gynaecology and obstetrics; the role and function of gynaecology and obstetrics, and
common gynecological diseases and gynecological tumors; nursing care for perinatal
women and their families; high-risk pregnant women, women during childbirth and
postpartum abnormalities and their families; and normal newborns, high-risk fetuses and
high-risk newborns.
NURS6133 Psychological and Mental Care 6 90 hrs ---
This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of mental health nursing. The
contents include : the basic principles of specialist mental health care; tertiary
prevention work and various mental health care practices.
