                  NURS6134    Community Health Nursing         6       90 hrs    ---
                              This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of community health nursing.
                              The contents include:the definition of community care, the role, function and practice
                              of community nurses; community care  considerations in  economic, social and ethical
                              areas;  teamwork  and  decision  making;  community  environment  and  characteristics,

                              community  connections  and  motivation,  and  demographic  characteristics;  and
                              community needs, epidemiological characteristics and community assessment tools, and
                              the strategies for promoting community/population health, community resources and
                              services, and community intervention evaluations.
                  NURS6135    Infection Control Nursing        6       90 hrs    ---
                              This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of infection control. The contents
                              include: types of infectious diseases, routes of transmission; purpose of infection control,
                              methods of infection control, standard preventive measures; risk assessment of infection;

                              separation  of  medical  waste,  packaging  and  labeling,  storage  of  medical  waste,  and
                              collection  of  medical  waste;  and  infection  control  ,  the  strategies  to  prevent  cross-
                              infection, research status and development trends.
                  NURS6136    Pediatric and Neonatal Care      6       90 hrs    ---
                              This module includes the growth, development, and health assessment of newborns and
                              children  at  various  stages;  ccommunication  with  newborns,  children,  and  family
                              members;  behavioral  and  psychosocial  issues  of  children;  family  cantered  care  for
                              children  during  illness  and  hospitalization;  nursing  care  for  common  health  issues  in
                              newborns  and  children;  diagnosis,  treatment  and  nursing  of  severe  emergencies  in
                              newborns  and  children;  prevention  of  vaccination  and  care  for  common  infectious
                              diseases in newborns and children; pain assessment and management in children.
                  NURS6137    Geriatric Nursing                6       90 hrs    ---

                              This module aims to help students explore issues related to the care of the elderly and
                              the role of specialist medical staff in interdisciplinary care for the elderly with intellectual
                              disabilities  and  their  families.  The  contents  include:the  evolution  of  human  aging,
                              biology, pathophysiology and biochemical aging processes and age-related diseases such
                              as dementia, cognitive impairment and related disorders; psychosocial aging; the future
                              of human aging, related issues and ethical considerations; and patterns and limitations of
                              human aging.

                              This module focuses on the changes of functions and metabolism of diseases. It enables

                              students to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis of etiology. The contents
                              include the concepts and theories of advanced pathophysiology; case studies on specific
                              diseases for in-depth understanding of etiology and pathogenesis, enhancing students’
                              clinical thinking and enhancing nursing quality through their clinical decision-making.
