                 SPPE8121     Research Methodology and Ethics     3    45 hrs   ---
                              This subject unit is guided by students' research interests and problems, covering areas
                              such as sports and health promotion, sports training and competition, physical education
                              and teaching, sports humanities and social sciences, etc. It focuses on the key links such
                              as the cultivation of innovative thinking, expansion of topic selection ideas, literature
                              analysis,  research  process  design,  research  method  selection,  research  content
                              determination, results summary and organization, and practical ability development in
                              the  research  process  in  the  field  of  sports  science,  and  strives  to  improve  students'
                              innovative thinking, research ability and practical application level. At the same time, this
                              subject unit also emphasizes that ethical issues must be taken seriously in sports science
                              research, ensuring that students' research design, implementation process and sports
                              practice comply with ethical standards, and avoiding academic misconduct in the process
                              of paper writing and publication.

                              Education and Teaching Research

                              This subject unit focuses on the research progress, hot topics and development trends
                              in the fields of physical education and sports humanities and sociology for teaching and
                              learning. The physical education and teaching part focuses on the theory and practice of
                              physical education and teaching in preschool, secondary school and higher education,
                              and sports and health promotion for children and adolescents. It focuses on the hot
                              topics of school sports development, physical education and teaching, and youth sports
                              research at home and abroad, and focuses on understanding students' physical fitness
                              and sports literacy, children and adolescent sports and health promotion, teaching and
                              evaluation  of  physical  education  courses  in  primary,  secondary  and  colleges,  sports
                              teaching methods and teacher professional development, sports teacher training and
                              curriculum development, physical education and cognitive psychological development
                              and adaptive sports. The sports humanities and sociology section conducts in-depth
                              research on the theories and methods of applied sports humanities, explores the basic
                              theories and development trends of the cross-integration of sports with people, society,
                              sports management, sports economics, sports industry and other disciplines, and seeks
                              solutions  to  practical  problems  in  the  fields  of  sports  management  system  and
                              development strategy, industrial integration, event management, public services, etc.
                              Through the study of this subject unit, students will be able to grasp and apply the latest
                              theories  and  methods  in  the  fields  of  physical  education  and  teaching  and  sports
                              humanities and social sciences with critical thinking, and be able to find problems that
                              trigger their research interests.
