MPU Students Participate in National Security Education Programme

Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to its motherland, Macao Polytechnic University, in collaboration with Beijing Normal University, organised a national security education camp for students. The camp aims to strengthen patriotism education, and the core values of loving the country and Macao while promoting exchange with the Chinese mainland higher education institutions. A total of 25 MPU students, including members of the Student Union and the national flag team, participated in the camp and received a warm welcome from Professor Wang Ming, Vice Rector, and Professor Liu Kai, Faculty Dean of Beijing Normal University.

Organised by the Faculty of National Security and Emergency Management of Beijing Normal University, the education camp comprised rich and diverse activities such as topical lectures and immersive learning. Lectures delved into various dimensions of national security, such as the overall national security concept, political and social security, military affairs, ecological safety, and cultural security, as well as how to consolidate the “One Country Two Systems” policy. Through scholars’ explanations, students gained a comprehensive understanding of national security, cultivating an awareness of safeguarding it and aspiring to become guardians.

Immersive learning activities included visiting the History Museum of the Chinese Communist Party, Beijing Winter Olympics venues, and watching the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square. Students gained a deeper appreciation and reverence for the country’s greatness and dignity.
