After considering your needs thoroughly, you can start searching for an apartment which meets your aim. In Macao, reliable relatives, friends, seniors or classmates can help you find a home. Alternatively, you can entrust a licensed real estate agent or broker to find a suitable residence: they have a wealth of property information and experience in finding suitable dwellings according to tenants' requirements, and they will also accompany potential tenants on property tours to assist in negotiating tenancy terms and entering into tenancy agreements. If the lease is successfully completed, the lessee is generally required to pay the equivalent of one month's rent to the real estate agent or broker as a service fee, commonly known as commission.

Search for an appropriate apartment
There are many real estate information websites in Macao, so it is recommended to collect information first and make an appointment for an on-site visit of the favourable apartment.
Visit the apartment
Arrange to visit the property with your family and friends, and it is recommended to do it during the day to better understand the environment and conditions inside and outside the building. Please pay attention to the following notes:
- Orientation, landscapes and layout of the apartment
- Any water leakage in the wall and ceiling, as well as the hidden dangers such as moisture, mould or moths
- Whether windows, door locks, etc. can be used normally
- Operation of toilet taps, toilets, and water heaters
- Operation of kitchen taps, gas/electric cookers
- Whether other household appliances in the house can be used normally
- Public environments such as elevators, walkways, clubhouse facilities, fire escapes, garbage rooms, etc
- Whether the neighbour keep any pets
