The School of Business of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) held 2020/2021 School Advisory Board Meeting

The School of Business of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) held a School Advisory Board Meeting on Jun. 17. Ten board members attended the meeting,including: Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Director – Integrated Resort Services of Galaxy Entertainment Group; Ms. Grace Cheung, Senior Advisor of Pricewaterhouse Coopers; Mr. Allan Chung, Vice President of Ecommerce and Digital Transformation, Sands China Ltd; Ms. Catherine Lee, Vice President of Joyer Group;  Mr. Leong Kam Chun, Partner of Keng Ou CPAs; Mr. Weiling Lin, General Manager of Human Resources Department, ICBC Macao; Mr. Loi Chi Kong, Banking Business Consultant of Bank of China (Macau Branch); Mr. Justin Lu, Vice President of Regional Marketing, MGM; Mr. Sam Tou, Executive Director of BNU; Ms. Winnie Wong, Assistant Senior VP of Internal Communication & Engagement (HR& Admin) of Galaxy Entertainment Group.

Dr. Samuel Huang, Director of School of Business and the School Program Coordinators,  attended the meeting. They reported the School affairs of 2020/2021 academic year and the School’s future plan to the Board. They also listened to the Board members’ advices and opinions on the School’s curriculum structure and design, the latest business environment, their comments and expectations on the fresh graduates, and the development and reform of the programs.

The Board members carefully listened to the reports explained by School Director and the Program Coordinators and highly appreciated the School’s efforts on making continuous improvement of the program design and cultivation of students after taking advices from the Advisory Board. They also shared the latest trends in the business industries, for instance, how they made the business adjustment to cope with the changing environment under COVID-19; how they protected employees’ health and at the same time enhanced their work efficiency through technological means; and what they required/expected on the fresh graduates, etc. The Board members’ professional advices are especially important and valuable since their expertise covers various business areas including Accounting, Gambling and Entertainment, Banking, Auditing, Convention and Exhibition, E-Commerce and other fields of SME, etc.

Ms. Deborah Leung, Executive General Manager International of CPA Australia and Mr. Raymond Bao, Partner of Ernst & Young, are also members of our School Advisory Board.  The School of Business owes great thanks to the Board members because their advices and contributions effectively facilitate the structure and development of the School programs which thereby get well aligned with the social progress and needs, and also facilitate the fostering of high-quality professionals.
