2022 FCG Alumni and Students Webinar

The Faculty of Business held a webinar with students and alumni on Jun.18, 2022. Ten prominent guests and alumni were invited to give sharing to current students of Faculty of Business. These included Mr. Daniel Chen (Invited guest, who received his Master degree in Financial Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. Currently working as a risk management analyst at ICBC(Macau), Mr. Tim Tang (Bachelor of Accounting Program alumni, graduated in 2012), Ms. Saber Ruwen Tian (Bachelor of E-Commerce Program alumni, graduated in 2018), Mr. Gabriel Meng Ieong Ho (Bachelor of E-Commerce Program alumni, graduated in 2019), Mr. Dong HanZe, Ross (Bachelor of Management Program alumni, graduated in 2020), Ms. Wang Xinyan, Sienna (Bachelor of Accounting Program alumni, graduated in 2020), Mr. Cheong Meng Chi Laurie (Bachelor of Management Program alumni, graduated in 2021), Mr. Leong Kin Hang (Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing alumni, graduated in 2021), Ms. Wu Yi Ke (Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing alumni, graduated in 2021), and Mr. Esbe Xinghao Wang (Bachelor of E-Commerce Program alumni, graduated in 2022).

Mr. Daniel Chen mainly introduced the operation and current situation of the banking industry in Macau. He mentioned that 70% of the income of the banking industry in Macau comes from loans, and there is a lot of room for development in the business diversification and modernization of the financial industry. Mr. Tim Tang emphasized the edge brought by the platform, as well developing personal competence in areas of communication and execution. He also encourage current students to cultivate a habit of sport exercise and live a healthy and energetic life. Ms. Saber Ruwen Tian explained some techniques and tactics for applying for graduate studies in prestigious universities through her own experience, including the importance of GPA and academic ability. She also shared some of her work experience as a lecturer at Sun Yat-Sen University, such as how to deal with students who “hitchhike” in group homework. Mr. Gabriel Meng Ieong Ho shared his job search experience and the key points to pay attention to, such as preparation before interview, skills during interview, etc. Mr. Dong HanZe, Ross shared his work experience as a global supply manager at Tesla's US headquarters and a global supply manager at Apple (Shanghai), and explained the benefits of having someone lead the way at work, which can reduce many detours and be more efficient. Ms. Wang Xinyan, Sienna used her work experience in Ernst & Young in Hong Kong to introduce the operation and work requirements of the Big Four accounting firms. She also encouraged current students to try different industries and learn Cantonese well. Mr. Cheong Meng Chi Laurie mentioned that the knowledge he learned at MPU Faculty of Business, such as accounting and statistics, was very helpful to him in his work. Mr. Leong Kin Hang shared his experience in interview preparation and workplace. Ms. Wu Yi Ke and Mr. Esbe Xinghao Wang mainly shared the experience of applying for graduate programs and the tactics and skills of the application process. They also encouraged the current students to go out of dormitory and campus more to learn more about social affairs.

In the end, the guests and alumni answered the questions raised by the students one by one, and the webinar as a whole ended successfully with very good results and warm applause.
