Professor To Wai Ming of our faculty has been awarded a Merit Prize in the 6th Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macao Research in Humanities and Social Sciences

Our faculty member Professor Wai Ming To and former faculty member Associate Professor Margaret N.F. Tang were awarded a Merit Prize on their paper entitled “Computer-based course evaluation: An extended technology acceptance model” in the 6th Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macao Research in Humanities and Social Sciences. 

 

The paper was published in Educational Studies (its link: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/03055698.2018.1443797 ). The study explored the antecedents of students’ intention to participate in computer-based course evaluation. It proposed an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that integrated subjective norm and perceived relevance into TAM. It identified the direct and indirect effects of subjective norm and perceived relevance on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and students’ intention to participate in computer-based course evaluation.

 

According to Scopus, the paper was cited 21 times since it was published in February 2018, making it one of the top 10% highly cited articles in the category of Education. The Web of Science (Clarivate) indicated that the paper was the top 6 highly cited article in the journal “Educational Studies” in 2020.
