MPU Students Win the Asian Management Game 2024 Championship
The team composed of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) students Li Pengyang, Wang Zequang, and Chen Xiaodan from the Master of Business Administration programme, under the guidance of Associate Professor Hsiao Yu Ling, clinched the championship at the 2024 Asian Management Game (AMG 2024). This competition included champion teams from 5 countries and regions: Macao, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Nepal, and India. After an intense competition in the semi-finals and finals, the MPU students emerged victorious as the overall champions in the Asian region, bringing honour to Macao.
The MPU student team won the Macao Regional Competition of the 2023 World Management Challenge (Macao region) championship and represented Macao in the AMG 2024, winning the tournament once again. The team will represent Macao, China in the final of the 2024 World Management Challenge to be held in Delhi, India in September this year.
The award-winning students expressed that the competition provided an international platform for exchange, allowing them to fully utilise their academic knowledge and skills. By participating in the competition and engaging with top professionals in the field of business management, they have laid a solid foundation for their future career development.
The AMG 2024, organised by the Asian Association of Management Organisations and the Macau Management Association, is one of the annual events organised by the Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO). It aims to connect management organisations from different countries in the Asia-Pacific region, providing a platform for learning and exchange for young managers. Teams of 3 to 5 members participate in online simulations, planning and operating a business over five fiscal quarters. Teams adjust their plans based on competitors’ moves, making decisions on production, quantity, price, research and development expenditures, promotions, investments, debts, and dividends. The team with the best investment performance emerges victorious.
