                            This  course  provides  students  with  an  overview  of  the  field  and  profession  of  public

                            administration. It offers a survey of social and historical environment of public agencies.
                            Students will also be introduced with the characteristics and problems of bureaucracy in
                            different  political  systems.  Topics  include:  Public  management;  leadership  and
                            administration; distractive ethics; public personnel management; decision making and
                            policy analysis; policy implementation; policy evaluation.
                PSYC0110    Introduction to Psychology        3       45 hrs    ---

                            This  course  is  an  introduction  to  both  the  central  concepts  and  applications  of
                            psychology  today  together  with  an  understanding  of  how  these  concepts  are
                            researched,  investigated  and  presented.  Topics  include:  Experimental  psychology  and
                            research methods; biological bases of behaviour; sensation and perception; cognition;
                            human  development;  learning;  consciousness;  emotion  and  motivation;  personality;
                            abnormality; counseling; social psychology; spiritual psychology.
                SOCI1130    Introduction to Sociology         3       45 hrs    ---

                            An  introduction  to  the  central  concepts  and  applications  of  sociology  today  with  an
                            emphasis  on  the  development  of  a  sociological  perspective  will  be  provided.  Topics
                            include:  Types  of  society;  culture,  socialization,  and  identity;  social  interaction  and
                            everyday  life;  the  body;  gender,  sexuality,  and  inequality;  ethnicity  and  race;  social
                            stratification and class structure; marriage, family, and personal life.
               Remarks:
               *Students are required to attend Level I and II of the same language subject.
