To educate students with good professional ethics, rigorous scientific attitudes and
working styles, to develop knowledge acquisition abilities, creativity, basic research skills
as well as team spirit through practical experiences. Contents: In hospital and health
center pharmacies - Dispensing practice; Patient counseling; Intervention and
communication with other healthcare professionals; Resolution of medication-related
problems; Medication management; Pharmacy references and IT resources related to
hospital pharmacies. In community pharmacies – Dispensing practice; OTC prescribing;
Patient counseling and signposting; Characteristics, management and operating methods
in community pharmacies. In pharmaceutical industry – manufacturing processes,
sanitary measures and quality controls in pharmaceutical productions. In regulatory
authorities – Organization system, scope of function of regulatory agency; Laws and
regulations; Pharmaceutical premises, products and professional licensing;
Pharmaceutical premises inspection; Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoeconomics.

BSTP4101 Thesis I 2 30 hrs ---
To equip students with the academic skills in writing a review article and conducting
research in a defined area of interest, leading to a better understanding of the
knowledge learned and to be more competitive in the future work and employment.
Contents (Thesis I): Research question conception; Literature review; Organization and
summarizing information from literature; Proposal writing. Students are required to
submit a research proposal at the end of Thesis I. Contents (Thesis II): Data collection;
Data analysis; Data discussion; Thesis writing. Students are required to submit a thesis at
the end of Thesis II.
