This subject focuses on the basics of clinical microbiology including characteristics and
pathological mechanisms of various types of pathogens. It also introduces the roles of
microorganisms in the natural environment and the prevention and treatment of
communicable diseases.
NPAT1102 Pathophysiology 3 45 hrs ---
This subject helps students master the common mechanisms and nature of disease
processes, including the core features of body responses e.g. metabolism. This study
offers rationales for devising the prevention and treatment of diseases.
NPHA1102 Pharmacology 3 45 hrs ---
This subject covers basic concepts of pharmacokinetics. It also systematically introduces
commonly used drugs, their pharmacological mechanisms, actions and side effects,
indications, and contraindications. Students could apply such knowledge to the safe and
effective administration of medications to clients.
LLAW1110 Constitution and Basic Law 2 30 hrs ---
The Constitution and the Basic Law, being the legal bases of the Macao SAR, are
embodied in two aspects. First, “One country, two systems” is implemented through
institutionalization and legalization. The processes achieved the establishment of Macao
SAR and the formulation of the Basic Law according to the Constitution of the People's
Republic of China. Second, “One country, two systems, a high degree of autonomy,
Macao people governing Macao” are put into effect since the establishment of the
Macao SAR following the legal system.
