                            This  module  it  will  present  the  concepts  of  protocol  and  intercultural  management;

                            how  to  develop  an  international  market  segmentation  strategy  based  on  cultural
                            factors; communication and negotiation as a means of dealing with differences; and the
                            comparison of culturally distinct negotiation styles. It    aims to develop the following
                            skills: know how to act correctly in various formal and informal situations arising from
                            social and professional life; understand and apply appropriate behaviour that facilitates
                            customer comfort, satisfaction and loyalty.

                ECON4111    Economy  of  Portuguese-Speaking  3       45 hrs    ---
                            Countries (CPLP)
                            This module will study the economic history of the different countries belonging to the

                            Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries. The identification of possible export and
                            import markets for goods and services will be carried out together with an assessment
                            of the possible expansion and diversification of economic markets.

                            Speaking Countries (CPLP)
                            This module analyzes current political and administrative systems of Angola, Brazil, Cape

                            Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor. It
                            will present both formal and informal structures of power. It will give special importance
                            to  the  various  organs  of  executive  power  and  to  their  current  participation  in
                            international and regional bodies.

                            Speaking Countries (CPLP)
                            The operation of legal systems has obtained a special importance in the context costs of

                            the  economic  activity.  This  module  will  allow  students  to  become  familiar  with  the
                            structure  of  legal  systems  in  Portuguese-speaking  Countries,  as  well  their  modus
                            operandi,  particularly  in  the  administration  of  justice.  Students  will  develop  skills  to
                            understand  the  contextual  costs  in  the  administration  of  justice  in  cases  of  business
                            disputes.
                LLAW4113    Tax  Systems  of  Portuguese-Speaking  3   45 hrs   ---
                            Countries (CPLP)
                            Students will be equipped with  knowledge  concerning the essential characteristics of

                            the tax systems of Portuguese-speaking countries, particularly the taxes, structure and
                            operation  of  tax  administration.  This  knowledge  and  skills  will  enable  them  to
                            understand  the  relevant  tax  effects  resulting  from  the  exercise  of  commercial  and
                            industrial activities in Portuguese-speaking countries.
                LLAW4121    International Economic Law        3       45 hrs    ---
                            Students will learn about the main facets of the current regulations affecting the global

                            economy  as  well  as  the  trends  that  have  occurred  over  the  last  few  decades,
                            particularly  in  terms  of  the  legal  regime  of  international  trade,  international
                            investments  and  international  monetary  relations.  Students  will  comprehend  how
                            globalization affects the entire world economy and that various economic regulations
                            and their effects cannot be confined only to the interests of operators of international
                            trade.
