                             This  subject  includes  emergency  medical  service  system,  pre-hospital  first  aid,
                             cardiopulmonary  resuscitation  and  advanced  life  support,  as  well  as  poisoning  and
                             trauma, nutritional support, infection control, organ function monitoring for critical care,
                             and rescue techniques. This subject uses case discussions to strengthen students’ use of
                             critical care procedures in analyzing and conducting nursing care.

                             Through  this  practicum,  students  apply  the  knowledge  of  Geriatric  nursing  to  clinical
                             practice.

                             This is a continuation of a similar subject in Year 2. The focal areas of clinical practice

                             Nursing)
                             Through this practicum, students apply the knowledge of mental health nursing to clinical
                             practice.

                 NEAP3102    Health Education and Promotion    2       30 hrs    ---
                             This subject introduces the principles and practices of promoting the health of groups in
                             the community. Students would learn the use of various health teaching strategies.
                 NENG3110    Medical English I                 2       30 hrs    ---

                             The main focus of this subject is to consolidate and develop students' English proficiency,
                             especially in the use of medical vocabulary. Commonly spoken medical English and written
                             records will be expanded.
                 NENG3120    Medical English II                2       30 hrs    ---
                             The  main  focus  of  this  subject  is  to  continue  Medical  English  I  in  consolidating  and

                             developing  students'  English  proficiency,  especially  in  the  use  of  medical  vocabulary.
                             Commonly spoken medical English and written records will continue to be expanded. This
                             is to prepare students to use medical English in the future.

                 NGER3101    Geriatric Nursing                 3       45 hrs    NFUN1101,

                             This nursing specialty subject introduces to students the principles of gerontology and
                             geriatric  nursing.  It  covers  the  effects  of  normal  aging  including  chronic  diseases,
                             nutritional  problems,  etc.  It  also  looks  into  issues  like  reactions  to  pharmacological
                             therapies, rehabilitation as well as psychological aspects of dying and the principles of
                             nursing care for these elderly individuals.
