Dr Wang’s book probes into the opening up of Macao’s gaming industry and notes that whilst bringing increased prosperity to society new problems have also emerged with these developments. Based on a theoretical analysis, Dr Wang suggests several policies designed to enhance the global competitiveness of Macao’s gaming industry. For example, he suggests establishing mechanisms to spur related industries, including incorporating Hengqin Island into gaming industry development plans so as to solve Macao’s land shortage problem.
