                             To equip students with an understanding of health survey, research protocol and statistical

                             analysis via lectures, case studies, case discussions, literature review, and participation in
                             health survey and research projects. Contents: Concepts and general terms in biostatistics;
                             Descriptive  statistics;  Quantitative  statistics;  Normal  distribution;  Regression  and
                             correlation; T-test; Chi square test; Basic knowledge and application of SPSS; Discussion of
                             statistical analysis.

                             To  increase  students’  exposure  to  different  contexts  of  using  English  for  authentic
                             communicative purposes both in daily lives and at work. The four macro-skills are covered
                             and writing skills are to be emphasized. Oral presentations are required for assessment. In
                             addition, medical terminologies about health concepts, diseases and others are added
                             with the focus on reading comprehension. Contents: Continuation of English III and IV
                             which include making recommendations; Explaining reasons and conditions; Discussing
                             daily habits and how to communicate with others, etc.

                             To  educate  students  with  good  professional  ethics,  rigorous  scientific  attitudes  and
                             working styles, to develop knowledge acquisition abilities, creativity as well as team spirit
                             through practical experiences. Contents: Students will practice in different institutes that
                             are related to the laboratory science profession (hospital laboratories, public laboratories,
                             or private companies). Under the supervision of the staff in these institutes, students’
                             performances will be evaluated. The internship training covers clinical chemistry, clinical
                             microbiology, clinical hematology, histopathology and public health analysis.
