                             Management
                             The  uniqueness  of  this  course  is  to  provide  students  with  practical  opportunities  to

                             understand  how  public  relations  perform  in  today's  society.  The  situations  for  basic
                             concepts in public relations are given to make the students effectively learn the related
                             knowledge  such  as  system,  news  release,  relations  with  media,  internal  notices,
                             sponsoring,  spokesman  system  and  crisis  management.  Cases  of  public  relations  are
                             presented to encourage the students to take an active part in discussions so as to widen
                             their thoughts.
                 PORT4105    Portuguese Writing                2       30 hrs    ---

                             This  course  covers  the  principles  and  techniques  of  Portuguese  writing  for  general
                             situations, including prompted compositions, and formal and informal letter writing
                 PORT4106    Selected  Readings  of  Portuguese  2     30 hrs    ---
                             Literary Works
                             This course exposes students to selected literature from major periods and genres of
                             prominent Portuguese writers. The students are required to read novels, poems, and
                             travelogues written in different historical periods. They are also asked to critically engage
                             themselves with the texts they encounter in order to improve their understanding and
                             appreciation of literary writings in Portuguese.

                 PORT4107    Communication in Portuguese I     2       30 hrs    ---
                             This  course  familiarizes  students  with  the  basic  concepts  and  theories  of  Portuguese
                             communication. Through lectures and case analyses, students are expected to master the
                             basic skills of spoken Portuguese and the related sentence patterns.

                 PORT4108    Communication in Portuguese II    2       30 hrs    PORT4107
                             This course is a continuation of Communication in Portuguese I. It further familiarizes

                             students with the basic concepts and theories of Portuguese communication. Through
                             lectures and case analyses, students are expected to master the basic skills of spoken
                             Portuguese and the related sentence patterns.
                 TRAN4122    Tourism and Gaming Translation    2       30 hrs    ---
                             This is a semester course focusing on familiarizing students with the register and discourse

                             characteristics of tourism and gaming industries as well as helping them acquire necessary
                             translation skills and techniques. By emphasizing Chinese-English and English-Chinese
                             translation  practices,  this  course  lays  a  foundation  for  students  to  participate  in
                             translating in tourism and gaming industries in the future.

               Remarks:
               ^Students shall take “Teaching Fieldwork I”/“Teaching Fieldwork II” or “Language Fieldwork”.
               *Theories and Applications: Mandarin Proficiency Test I/Cantonese I (Select one language subject),
                   Theories and Applications: Mandarin Proficiency Test II/Cantonese II(Select one language subject).
