Having long been labeled the “cradle of missionaries in the Far East”, the College of Saint Paul once played an important role in missionary work in the East Asian and Southeast Asian regions, with its importance inscribed in the history of the Catholic missions. This award-winning monograph is an outcome of years of effort in investigating the history of the College of Saint Paul on the basis of existing literature and, more importantly, original documentation about the College discovered in Portugal.
